Guidance

Tokopah Falls, Sequoia National Park

“I’m so glad we talked to the park ranger at the Visitor’s Center,” Dad said as climbed back into the car after finishing a hike in Sequoia National Park. “I’m not sure I would have gone in the campground to get to the trail head.” We then continued to talk about how great of hike that was to Tokopah Falls. The trail followed a rushing stream with mountainous cliffs rising up in the background.

At the end of the trail was a tall waterfall that cascaded over boulders. On our way back, we saw plenty of wildlife including a marmot, deer, and 3 black bears – a mama and 2 cubs! We were all thankful for the Park Ranger’s guidance.

I’m thankful for the opportunity to get some more guidance in the art of missions storytelling through videography. In one week, I’ll be leaving for a short-term missions trip. This will help prepare me for my time in Latin America (see my About page).

The trip will begin and end at ABWE‘s (Association of Baptists for World Evangilism) headquarters near Harrisburg, PA. For about a week in the middle, we will go to the Balkans to work on producing stories to tell what God is doing there. There will be 11 others producing stories along with me and 4 high-quality instructors. Please pray for the following as I go:

  • The logistics and safety of travelling with lots of photography gear
  • Clarity and communication with filming and interviewing people who may not speak English
  • Discipline and energy for the long hours of editing
  • Wisdom on how best to tell the story that I will be producing
  • God would use the video to challenge others
