La Concha

Nicaragua is amazing! We’ve been going non-stop since we got here. Each student was assigned a story to cover while we were in the states and a local partner for transportation and translation. The last couple of days were spent getting to know the people in our stories, starting to shoot content, getting interviews, and being trained by the fabulous instructors here (Stanley Leary from Chick-Fil-A and James Dockery from ESPN).

I’ve been spending my time with Carmen Heffner, a missionary from Charlotte, NC. She has been driving me over an hour each day up into the mountains to the rural area of La Concha. I have so loved learning about La Concha, meeting the people there, and exploring it! The faithful men up there are passionate about spreading God’s Word and starting more churches in the other villages nearby. It’s very much a spiritual battle ground up there, but God is doing amazing things!

Here’s a glimpse of the church at La Concha:

Please pray for us as we coordinate the logistics of getting the rest of the needed shots and interviews.

  1. How exciting! I’m glad things are going well. I will be eager to hear more about what you learn, both of the people and the technical skills.
