My situation isn’t very common. Not many people doing ministry work travel this much in such a short time. I land in a new place and right away start working on a new project, adding to the list of ones to be finished. But once again, I’m reminded that Jesus can sympathize with me. He traveled all around Israel and had to leave people He cared for in each place.
In the middle of September, I left Colombia and returned to Perú. I loved my time in Medellín, and all the kids were sweet as I went around the neighborhood saying my goodbyes. I am looking forward to visiting hopefully in the not-too-distant future!
My time back in Perú has been a whirlwind. I had a couple of days in Lima to reorganize before I headed to Chiclayo – a coastal city in northern Perú. I was there for 10 days and filmed several different interviews during that time. I really enjoyed a meal almost every day with a different family or couple from the Chiclayo church plant. I was treated to lots of delicious traditional Peruvian dishes including one of their most popular ones: pollo a la brasa (rotisserie chicken).
After a stop in Lima to exchange the spring sweaters for the summer shorts, I flew to Iquitos – a city in the Amazon jungle of Perú. I am filming a story for the Bible institute while here. I’ve been enjoying learning about the city and life along the Amazon!
It’s hard to believe I’ll be back in the States in just a few weeks! Please pray for the following as I wrap up my time in Perú:
- All of the missionaries in Spanish South America will be gathering for a conference. I will be helping with the music, and I am really looking forward to seeing everyone from all the places I’ve visited! Please pray for safety in travelling, health for everyone, a good time of refreshment, and the music to go smoothly.
- Please pray that I would remain healthy to be able to finish out my time well.
- After travelling for several months, I’ve noticed it is wearing on some of equipment. Please pray that everything I need would last a few more weeks.
- Please pray for my transition back to the States at the end of October.
