We live in a society that quickly gets bored, yet messages still need communicated. Where words fall short in expressing something or holding someone’s attention, just about everyone will watch a short video or look at a few pictures.
Thursday morning we heard from three of the regional directors briefly what God is doing in the regions that they oversee and how they could use video productions to further the ministries. It was encouraging and inspiring to hear how they are passionate for missions and see the need for people like the 11 of us going on this trip. Here are just some of the ways they would like to use videos in their ministries:
- recruit missionaries to specific regions of the world
- recruit missionaries to new countries just opening up
- recruit natives of other countries to be missionaries
- tell the stories of what God is through each missionary to update churches and supporters and to allow them to pray specifically for those ministries
Here’s a brief over view of what my time here has looked like so far:
Prayer requests:
- Friday we have trial runs. Please pray that everyone gets equipment to work and learns how to operate everything they need to learn.
- Pray for the logistics of packing/repacking for a trip out of the country. We’ve got a table full of gear to distribute among us without going over weight limits.
- Pray for safe travels as we head out of the country.
